About Emily


Emily traveled the world before finding her sweet little home by the sea, where she lives with her husband and her young daughter, Isla. She is a yoga teacher, freelance writer, and mother who pursues her idea of robust living in Sag Harbor. Yoga is an integral part of the balance of extrovert and introvert that she tries to nurture.

Emily completed the 200-Hour Anusara Yoga Teacher Training in 2008 with distinguished teachers Lois Nesbitt, Ellen Saltonstall, and Julie Dohrman. The emphasis of Anusara yoga is on precise alignment and a connection to the heart. Yoga is not simply aerobics: it is meant to incorporate exercises that stretch the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical planes. Emily has studied Anatomy, Philosophy, Therapeutics, Sanskrit, and Anusara Yoga’s Universal Principles of Alignment ( She now teaches using yoga, hooping, and essential oils in both New York City and the Hamptons. By weaving themes of joy, love, grounding, and freedom into each pose, Emily’s goal is to constantly bring you back to what she believes to be the meaning of life to fully experience each and every moment.
